When your Toyota Tacoma's AUTO LSD kicks in, it helps improve traction by utilizing the traction control system to manage engine power and braking when one of the back wheels starts to spin. This feature should only be used if one of the rear wheels is spinning on a difficult surface, like in a ditch or on rough terrain. If the back wheels start spinning, the slip indicator will flash, signaling that the AUTO LSD has intervened to stop the spinning. When you activate the AUTO LSD, the VSC system will also be activated if the vehicle speed increases. Should the brake system overheat, the AUTO LSD will stop working and a buzzer will sound to warn you. Pull over in a safe location. The system will automatically restart after a brief pause.
The warning light for auto lsd means there is an issue with the traction system in your vehicle.
