In 2006, the Ford Explorer did not come standard with an auxiliary input jack, although it was available on some higher trim levels and as part of a technology package. Just because your head unit shows an aux input icon, it doesn't necessarily mean that you have one. It wasn't until 2011 that the auxiliary input jack became a standard feature. If your vehicle is equipped with one, you can typically find it in the center console near the front wall of your car. If your model doesn't have this feature, don't worry; there are various aftermarket solutions available. You can purchase a new head unit from brands like Pioneer, Alpine, Sony, JVC, Boss, etc., for around $100, which includes an auxiliary port. This upgrade is relatively simple and can likely be done in an afternoon with the help of online tutorials.
In the central storage compartment, you'll find it at the front towards the bottom.
