The Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor in a 2011 Toyota Corolla includes a magnet and iron core wrapped in copper wire, situated on the cylinder head. When this sensor wears out, symptoms like rough idling, stalling, power loss, and slow acceleration may appear in your vehicle. While a faulty camshaft sensor won't immediately cause your car to fail, it will lead to a gradual decline in performance over time. As the sensor degrades, it becomes less efficient at processing data, resulting in issues such as misaligned fuel delivery and ignition timing that can cause your vehicle to sputter, lose power, stall, or shut off.
This can be found close to the motor, tucked away in the rear of the engine within a casing designed for sensors.
