The camshaft position sensor in a 2014 Ford Fusion is situated on the right side of the engine block beneath the valve cover to track the camshaft's position during rotation. This sensor is crucial as it informs the ECU when to provide fuel, air, or spark during the compression cycle. A malfunctioning sensor can trigger the check engine light and result in rough running, sluggish throttle response, and misfires. Fortunately, replacing the sensor is a simple and cost-effective task if it malfunctions.
