The factory amplifier in all 2016 Chevy Malibu models is located below the rear seats. To reach it, you will have to take out the seats by undoing several bolts on each side. Depending on the task at hand, you may only have to remove one seat. The original amps in these cars were not particularly strong, prompting numerous owners to upgrade to aftermarket options. These replacements can be priced anywhere from $200 to over $500.
