The fuel filter in the 2008 Chevy Silverado is typically housed within the fuel pump assembly underneath the vehicle, connected to the fuel rail. Accessing it is straightforward as it is secured by a couple of easily removable bolts. The cost of replacement varies, ranging between $200 and $800 on average. In certain instances, the filter and pump are internal components of the gas tank. In such situations, a new gas tank may be required to replace the pump, but external access allows for filter replacement. Prices for this type of repair are similar, possibly a bit higher than just replacing the pump. If the pump is malfunctioning, you may experience difficulties accelerating due to insufficient fuel delivery. In severe cases, the vehicle may not start at all.
