The fuel filter in the 2012 Chevy Cruze is integrated with the fuel pump. Typically, the fuel pump is located underneath the vehicle, connected to the fuel rail. Accessing it is straightforward since it is secured by only a couple of bolts that are easy to remove. The cost to replace it can range from $200 to $800 on average. However, in some instances, the filter and pump are part of the gas tank internally. In this scenario, you would need to replace the entire gas tank to replace the pump, but there will be external access to install a new filter. The prices for this are similar, maybe slightly higher than just replacing the pump.
The 2012 Chevy Cruze has the fuel pump located on the right side of the engine towards the front.
