In the 2013 Chevy Malibu, you can locate the fuel pump relay in the fuse box by checking to the left of the steering wheel for a small seam or crack along the dash. You can open the fuse box using a screwdriver or prybar. Inside, you will find several fuses. The back of the panel you opened will have a diagram showing what each fuse is for. If the diagram is not on the panel, you can refer to the vehicle's owner's manual. Once you identify the fuse you need, simply remove it. Check if the two sections that stick up are connected by a thin strip of metal - if this strip is broken, then the fuse is no good and needs to be replaced. If the strip is intact, the fuse is fine and can be reinserted. Replacement fuses are inexpensive, costing around 10 dollars.
The fuel relay on a 2013 Chevy Malibu can be found beneath the carpet in the trunk area.
There is no hidden compartment beneath the carpet in these models. The steering wheel is located on the left side. Remove the small box compartment by pressing the lower half inward. The other fuse is located under the hood, where you will find the fuel fuse.
