To access the fuse box located under the car hood, open the hood and secure it in place. Look for a black box on the right side of the engine area with a visible seam. When you open the box, you will find the fuses inside. The back of the box's lid will have a diagram indicating the function of each fuse. If the information is not on the box, refer to the car owner's manual. Identify the needed fuse and remove it. Check for a metal strip connecting the two raised sections of the fuse; if it's broken, the fuse needs replacing. If the strip is intact, the fuse is good to be reinstalled. Replacement fuses are inexpensive, typically around $10.
