In a Chevy S-10, you'll find the idle air control valve (IAC) close to the throttle body on the intake manifold. The IAC valve is crucial in managing a vehicle's idle speed in fuel-injected cars. A failing IAC valve can lead to various vehicle problems and, in extreme cases, make it impossible to drive. Signs of a faulty idle control valve include irregular idle speed and engine stalling, as the valve might cut off the air supply needed to maintain a steady idle.
The Idle Air Control valve is situated on the throttle body, and it has four wires attached to it. I think you will need a #20 torx bit to take it out. This applies to a 2.2-liter engine.
