The 2011 Ford Escape has an o2 sensor situated in the exhaust system, which can cause various engine problems. These issues may include increased oil consumption, leading to the need for more frequent oil changes. Engine overheating is a critical concern, as it could result in fire or vehicle explosion. Loose gaskets should be promptly tightened, and a loose spark plug can cause engine malfunctions. Promptly address oil leaks and change the coolant every 60,000 miles. Replace the spark plugs every 100,000 miles unless using copper plugs, in which case replacement is required every 30,000 miles. Additionally, remember to change the air filter every 15,000 to 30,000 miles.
Oxygen sensors can be found in the exhaust flow.
