In the 2018 Chevy Malibu, the parking brake control is found on the left side of the driver's dash near the steering wheel. It's a small black lever with a "P" on it which you can pull to activate the electronic parking brake. Once engaged, the digital display will show "Park Brake Set". To release or turn it off, simply press the foot pedal and push the lever back toward the dash. The display will then show "PB Released". Common causes of parking brake failures include corroded or worn cables, issues within the EPB control module, or a stuck or faulty electric actuator motor for the parking brake.
