The 2010 Ford Focus with a 2.5L engine has a PCV valve located at the rear of the passenger side of the engine. This valve is attached to the valve cover with a hose that goes to the engine and is secured in place with a clamp. Warning signs of a faulty PCV valve include reduced fuel efficiency, higher oil consumption, and a bumpy engine idle. The hose connected to the valve might be blocked or leaking due to a vacuum on the intake side of the cylinder head, preventing the ECU from receiving accurate information about the required fuel for the engine. As a result, this could lead to either a fuel lean or rich condition in the engine.
The PCV valve can be found at the back of the engine on the right-hand side valve cover.
The engine light may illuminate due to a faulty PCV valve.
