In Your 2015 Ford Edge, the purge valve can be located on the evaporative canister positioned above the rear muffler. Its main function is to release vapors from the fuel system to prevent blockages or engine knock. This valve also helps to clear out the EVAP system when pressures become too high. A common issue with the purge valve is it getting stuck open, resulting in a check engine light and a code indicating an EVAP system leak. If You have already checked Your gas cap, the next probable cause would be a malfunctioning EVAP purge valve.
