In a 2002 Chevy Cavalier, the starter is located at the bottom of the engine block on the left side. It can be found near the point where the transmission connects with the engine block, with noticeable thick wires leading to it. If you hear clicking or grinding noises coming from the starter when you start your car, it's a common indication of an issue. Check and ensure that the wiring is securely connected and that the relay to the starter is working correctly. Remember, the starter motor is a part that can stop functioning and may require replacement to get your vehicle running smoothly again.
In both the Chevy Cavalier 4-cylinder and V6 engines, the starter should be positioned on the side of the engine by the car's rear. It is attached to the block from below and connects with the ring gear in the bellhousing.
Wiring systems are responsible for ensuring that the vehicle is able to commence its engine.
