In the 2016 Volkswagen Jetta, the traction control button can be found on the steering wheel's smaller instrument panel, often designated as VSC. To deactivate both TRAC and VSC, hold down the button for at least three seconds. The illuminated indicators on the instrument panel will confirm the deactivation. The reason you might want to disable this feature is to allow your wheels to spin freely in situations like mud or snow, where the traction control can impede your ability to get unstuck. Similarly, if you're engaging in drag racing, you'll want the freedom for your wheels to spin as needed.
