For the 2007 Ford Fusion, it's recommended that you change the transmission fluid every 25,000 to 40,000 miles to prevent wear and tear. In between changes, make sure to regularly check the fluid levels by locating the dipstick in the upper engine bay, slightly to the right of center. It's conveniently positioned between the battery and the engine block and is easy to spot. This location is consistent for Fusion models from 2006 to 2009. If you notice a burnt smell or dirt particles in the fluid, it's probably time for a transmission fluid change on your Fusion.
The dipstick for checking the transmission fluid in a 2007 Ford Fusion can be found inside the transmission fluid reservoir beneath the car's hood.
