Assuming you are looking for the main electronic control unit (ECU) in your 2008 Toyota Tundra, rather than any other modules that communicate on the CAN network, it can be found beneath the passenger side dashboard, behind and below the glove box. It is a flat box that sticks out from the firewall, surrounded by a black rubber gasket, and connected to a cluster of wires. A brand new ECU for your vehicle will cost you close to $500, but you can opt for a remanufactured one for about half the price, like the part ECC11316 sold by AutoZone for $255. If you are unsure about identifying the ECU, it is recommended to familiarize yourself with its appearance beforehand to ensure a smooth replacement process without causing any damage.
