The 2009 Chevy Impala has its fuel filter located in the gas tank on the fuel sending unit. The main purpose of the fuel filter is to prevent any debris from entering the fuel system and causing blockages in the lines or injectors. If you notice a decrease in fuel pressure, it is a likely indicator that the filter is clogged. In the past, the fuel filter used to be placed underneath the vehicle, which was prone to leaks. However, modern manufacturers have now positioned it inside the fuel tank along with the fuel pump.
The fuel filter for the 2009 Chevy Impala can be found inside the fuel tank.
