From 2016 to now, the Honda Civic hasn't had a fuel door release button, so your 2018 model won't have one either. Instead, all you need to do is push in the rear edge of the fuel door during these years. This will make it spring open, giving you access to the fuel cap. While it might not be as handy as a pull-open design or as secure as having a button inside, once you learn this trick, opening the fuel door will be a breeze.
