Your 2009 Toyota Camry may still have an idle air control valve (IAC), as Toyota removed them from their 6th generation Camrys, making the ECU handle all idle functions. In your car, the IAC can be found near the throttle body on the intake manifold. It is a black plastic part with wires connected to it. To clean the valve, park on a flat surface, let the Camry cool for about thirty minutes, disconnect the harness, and spray throttle body cleaner inside. Signs of a failing IAC include erratic idle speed, engine stalling, and the check engine light coming on.

The idle air control valve on the 2009 Toyota Corolla's engine is situated right on the throttle body. It is a compact black sensor connected to wires.
