In a 2015 Toyota Corolla, the oil filter is positioned alongside the oil pan on the lower part of the engine. It is housed horizontally in a black plastic casing with a nut situated on the top. The primary function of the oil filter is to remove debris from the oil before it enters the engine to prevent any particles from entering tight spaces. Each time you replace the oil, you must also replace the filter to maintain optimal performance. Otherwise, new oil poured into an old filter can absorb contaminants stuck on the filter. It is essential to always use a new gasket when changing the filter to ensure proper sealing of the oil system.
The oil filter is located in the lower part of the engine's oil compartment and can be replaced by raising the vehicle with a jack.
