The Chevy Silverado's YAW rate sensor is positioned underneath the passenger seat, affixed to the floorboard for optimal access to the truck's center of gravity. To reach the sensor, you'll need to pull back the carpet and unscrew the bolts securing it. This sensor is essential for the vehicle to monitor traction, stability, and the anti-locking braking system, warning you if the vehicle tilts at an unsafe angle. Remember to disconnect the battery before attempting to remove the Yaw sensor to prevent any electrical damage while the vehicle is still running.
On the 2003 Silverado, you can find the combined yaw rate sensor and lateral accelerometer sensor under the front passenger seat.
