The 2000 Nissan Maxima has an alternator fuse located in the engine bay of the car. To access it, first, stand in front of the car and use the prop arm on the left side of the compartment to safely open the hood. Then, inspect the front of the bay near the battery to locate the fuse box, which contains a variety of fuses and switches. Check the code on the sticker attached to the lid of the fuse box in order to identify the alternator fuse inside.
