The blend door actuator for the 2008 Cadillac SRX can be found on the passenger side, just under the glove box. You'll need to remove the glove box and trim to access it. To replace it, you simply need to unbolt it and disconnect the wiring harness pigtail. If you hear a knocking sound when turning on the AC, this could indicate a faulty blend door actuator. Similarly, inconsistent airflow when using the heat or AC may also point to a problem with the BDA. The good news is that this part is affordable and easy to replace. You can purchase a Murray Climate Control 5 Terminal Blend Door Actuator, part #73176, from O'Reilly's for approximately $37.
