In a 2012 Chevy Avalanche, the cabin air filter is located behind the glove box on the dashboard. To reach it, you must take out the glove box. Begin by opening the glove compartment and removing the bump stops securing it in place when open. This will allow the glove box to hang down completely. From there, take off the plastic panel behind it to access the cabin air filter. Slide out the old filter and replace it with a new one. Remember to inspect your cabin air filter twice a year to ensure it is not overly clogged with dust.
The air filter for the 2012 Chevy Avalanche can be found within a rectangular cold air collector box situated towards the front of the engine compartment under the hood.
