In a 2005 Ford Escape, the door ajar sensor is located on the door latch inside the door panel. There could be issues with the wiring that cause the sensor to activate intermittently while driving. If you're experiencing this problem, it's recommended to check both the wiring and the sensor itself. To access the sensor, you'll need to remove the door panel. You can also disable the door ajar sensor on the Ford Escape by turning off the engine and removing the key. Then, turn the key to the on position without starting the ignition, buckle and unbuckle the seatbelt three times, and wait for the warning light to turn off.
It can be found by the door jamb striker plate, NOT on the inside of the door panel!
The position of the door ajar switch for the Ford Escape is located inside the door panel, situated behind the door lock.
