The 2008 Chevy Silverado's factory amplifier is situated under the rear seat on the passenger side. If you encounter sound issues, whether from the stereo's speakers or a connected phone, it's essential to address these problems promptly. Sound trouble from the speakers may manifest as static noises, sudden shutdowns, loose wiring, or a blown fuse. On the other hand, if the problems originate from the phone, it could be due to software update failures, failure to sync with the vehicle, low phone battery, or signal interference from objects.

I don't spot it/see it under the back seat, and just so you know, this is not a Bose sound system.

Do any of you have a 1998 car? I feel frustrated because I have all the interior components laid out in my workshop, including new head unit, speakers, amps, and wires, but I can't get any sound after working on this for three weeks.

I can't locate the amp in my Silverado either. It might be best for those who have hands-on experience working on it and have found the amp to provide answers. Otherwise, you could just contribute to the confusion.

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, the amplifier in some models was positioned to the right of the glove box above the kicker panel. Accessing it required removing the glove box. Additionally, certain early models had the amp placed in the center console beneath the stereo. I am currently attempting to locate the factory amplifier in my 2007 Silverado pickup truck.

I'm really puzzled because I can't locate the amplifier in the entire truck.

You could check inside the rear side panels or behind the glove compartment. I own a 1998 Chevy extended cab truck, and I've been searching for the source of the problem for three weeks without any luck. I also haven't come across a factory amplifier yet.
