The fuel filter in the 2013 Ford Explorer is integrated with the fuel pump. Normally, the fuel pump is located underneath the vehicle, connected to the fuel rail. Accessing it is straightforward – it is secured by a small number of bolts that are easy to remove. The cost of replacement can vary, typically ranging from $200 to $800. In certain instances, both the filter and pump are internal components of the gas tank. In such cases, a new gas tank will be required to replace the pump, but external access will be available for installing a new filter. The pricing for this is generally comparable, possibly a few hundred dollars more than solely replacing the pump. When the pump starts to fail, you may experience issues with acceleration due to insufficient fuel delivery. In severe cases, the car may not start at all.
If you're looking for the fuel funnel to add a fuel additive to your tank, it can be found beneath the rear cover in the area where the spare tire is stored. It is placed inside a foam cover on top of the spare tire, positioned in a small opening on the left side.
