To locate the fuel pump relay on a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse, check the fuse box under the car's hood. To access the fuse box, lift and secure the hood. Look for a black box on the right side of the engine compartment with a seam around it. Open this box to reveal the fuse inside. The back of the box lid should have a fuse diagram; if not, consult the car's owner's manual. Identify the needed fuse, and remove it from the box. Inspect the fuse for a connected thin metal strip between the two raised sections. If the strip is broken, the fuse needs replacement. Otherwise, it is still good and can be reinserted. Replacement fuses are inexpensive, typically around $10.
