In the 2006 Chevy Silverado, there are two fuse boxes. The one containing the brake light fuse is located in the passenger compartment. To access it, open the driver's side door and remove the cover on the edge of the instrument panel. The brake light fuse is typically rated at 15 amps; in this case, it should be number 5, but you can double-check by referring to the diagram on the inside of the cover. There may be spare fuses behind the cover, but ensure that you use one with the correct amperage. To replace the fuse, gently pull it out using your fingers or a plastic removal tool. Insert the new fuse and put the cover back in place.
