On all Toyota 4Runner models from the 5th generation, including the 2019 model, the spare tire is located under the back of the vehicle. To get to it, you will need to take out the jack handle from the spare tire kit, which is stored behind a cover on the rear driver's side of the cargo area. The spare tire arm tool consists of three pieces: two that you connect lengthwise and a third for turning. After putting the tool together, insert it into the access hole just left of the liftgate latch. Twist counterclockwise with the turning piece to release and lower the spare tire.
