The lane assist feature in the VW Tiguan might stop working if it needs an update. A camera records lane markings near the interior mirror, and the vehicle's position is monitored. When the system is active, it will provide a subtle steering correction if the Volkswagen drifts from its lane. Lane Assist is automatically engaged at speeds above 40 mph, but it does not operate below that speed or when the turn signal is activated. You can turn the Lane Assist system on or off in the infotainment system by going to the CAR menu, then selecting SETUP.
