To turn off the oil light on your 2004 Chevrolet Impala, first find a safe place to park the car. Only reset the oil light after each oil and oil filter change, which should be done every 3,000 to 4,000 miles for the Impala. Once that's taken care of, put the key in the ignition and turn it to the on position without starting the car. Next, quickly press and release the gas pedal three times within 5 seconds. The oil change light will flash twice, at which point you can turn the vehicle off and then back on.
