My manual from 2018 states that the engine requires 8 quarts of oil. Both the 1500 with the 5.3 engine and the 6.0 liter engine require the same amount. However, if the 6.0 liter engine doesn't have an oil cooler, it takes 6 quarts. Simply add in 6 quarts and then verify the oil level using the dipstick.
