The 2006 Ford Expedition came with a 5.4L Triton V8 engine on all models. This engine takes 7 US quarts of motor oil with the filter. You'll need to use 5W-20 synthetic blend oil. The oil drain plug is 16mm in size, so you'll need a 16mm or 5/8th socket wrench to remove it unless you have a torque wrench handy. If you're using a torque wrench, set it to 20 lbs-ft. It's recommended to change the oil in this vehicle every 7,500 miles.

The 2006 Expedition doesn't need synthetic oil. I've never used synthetic oil in my '06 Expedition, it has 184,000 miles and still runs great. Make sure not to misinform others by saying the regular oil is synthetic.

The 2006 Ford Expedition comes with a 5.4L V8 engine as standard and needs 7 quarts of 5W20 synthetic oil to keep it running smoothly.

How about this: 5 to 20 quarts of oil, or around 7 quarts.
