To reset the oil light on a 2013 Kia Optima, you'll need to change the oil for it to turn off. When changing the oil, make sure the car has been parked and turned off for a couple of hours to avoid burning yourself on the hot oil. Locate the oil pan and drain plug under the car's engine, then place a bucket beneath the plug and remove it to let the oil drain out. Allow the oil to drain completely, which might take about an hour. Once done, replace the drain plug and refill the oil pan through the intake port on top using a funnel. Fill it to the full mark, being careful not to overfill as this can cause leaks and oil burning. After filling, close the port, clean up any spilled oil, and your oil change is complete.
