The primary motor mount issues in a 2006 Chevy Impala typically stem from the mounts failing. The motor mounts in your car are constructed with metal and a rubber bushing in between to minimize motor vibrations transmitted to the vehicle. If one of these bushings wears out and fails, the result is similar to having a solid metal motor mount, causing increased motor vibrations to reach the vehicle and potentially leading to a rough running engine. In the event that multiple motor mounts fail simultaneously, there is a risk of the engine misaligning with the transmission, potentially resulting in damage to their connection.
If there is a problem with the motor mount of your 2006 Chevy Impala, you might hear loud noises and feel shaking from the engine, causing it to move and shift while in operation.
