In 2011, GMC Sierra 1500 may encounter transmission issues such as hesitation and difficulty shifting gears. Some truck owners have noticed a shaking or shuddering sensation in the transmission around speeds of 40 to 50 mph when the torque converter clutch is activated, likely due to rainwater entering through the dipstick. Another common problem is a rough 1-2 shift at times with engine performance lagging. This issue could be linked to the torque converter clutch engaging during the shift. To fix these issues, it's recommended to check the wiring harness running from the transmission case connector to the back of the driver's side engine for any damage, especially on the TCC solenoid and pressure control solenoid wires that may have gotten worn on a body seam. If the wires are damaged, they need to be repaired, and the harness should be repositioned.
