If your sunroof stops working in the closed position, you may run into an issue with the Ford Edge where the open sunroof doesn't lock into place due to a malfunction in the internal hardware. If the electronic components fail, you could be left with an open gap in the roof that you can't close with the push of a button. However, there's a solution to this problem. By removing the interior headliner in the Edge, you can access the sunroof's internal components to identify the cause of the issue, often a simple case of the belt coming off the track. By fixing this problem, you should be able to manually close the sunroof.

Just lightly use a flathead screwdriver to carefully lift them until the sunroof motor is visible. Then, use an allen wrench to turn clockwise until the sunroof is shut and locked in place.
