In the 2006 Chevy Silverado 3500, there are 215/85R16 tires mounted on 16-inch diameter wheels that are typically 6 1/2 to 7 inches wide. When replacing the tires, ensure the jack is positioned correctly based on the tire being worked on. First, raise the jack to touch the frame, loosen the lug nuts, then lift the truck until the tire is off the ground. Place a jack stand under the truck, finish removing the lug nuts, and set the tire aside. Align the wheel studs with the rim when putting the tire back on and make sure the tapered end of the lug nuts is facing towards the wheel to prevent damage and ensure proper fit.
