On the 2007 Chevrolet Malibu, the EVAP vent solenoid is situated on the top of the fuel tank. It's essential to differentiate it from the EVAP purge solenoid, which is much easier to locate; the purge solenoid can be found on the upper rear section of the engine, close to the firewall. To find the vent solenoid, simply track the EVAP purge tube that runs parallel to the fuel line and goes up the firewall. Replacing the vent solenoid can be quite challenging due to its positioning. Even though you can technically switch it out without removing the fuel tank, the space might be limited. It's advisable to lift the Malibu or use sturdy jack stands to lower the fuel tank for better access.
