There is currently no recall for the transmission in the 2000 Honda Accord, but considering the car's age, problems are not uncommon. If you are experiencing gearbox issues, also known as the transmission, you may encounter the following symptoms: gears slipping or slamming during shifts, delayed or early shifting, abnormal sounds when shifting, a grinding noise from under the hood indicating gears rubbing, transmission fluid leaking due to a line leak after the car has been parked, and ultimately the car may fail to drive altogether if the transmission seizes up.
The 2000 and 2001 Accord models were recalled, with the transmission warranty being extended for an additional 7 years.
