No, there haven't been any recalls for the power steering in the 2016 Chevy Traverse. Although some customers have raised concerns about the power steering, overall it functions well and is considered to be a reliable system. The only recalls for this model were related to problems with the Third Row Seat Frame welding and an issue with the wiper blade motor overheating. These were relatively minor issues that had simple solutions, and customers have generally been satisfied with the performance of the car based on their feedback.
During my state inspection, my mechanic informed me that my pump had recently started leaking and could last for about a year. She also mentioned that this issue was a result of a manufacturing flaw.
A recall has been initiated due to the sudden loss of power steering assistance, which poses a risk of accidents and potential fatalities.
