To reset the oil life in the 2012 Volkswagen Jetta, follow these steps: press and hold the "0.0" button next to the instrument cluster with the ignition off. Next, turn the key to the "on" position without starting the engine while keeping the "0.0" button depressed. Briefly press the "double square" button by the driver's instrument gauges. Switch the key on and off. The oil life should now be reset. To confirm, access the Jetta's menu on the driver's information display in the center. You can do this by pressing the "ok" buttons on the steering wheel stalk or by the main instrument panel.
