You don't have to worry about changing the cabin air filter in a 2005 Ford Explorer because it doesn't come with one. Although there is a filter to prevent debris from entering the HVAC system, it's not effective in filtering out pollen and pollutants from the cabin. Ford only began including these filters in 2011 models, so for older Explorers like yours, it's not something you need to think about.
