There are three methods to unlock the trunk on the BMW 650i. Firstly, you can utilize the keys by inserting them into the lock located at the back of the trunk, which is the conventional approach. Another alternative is to locate and press the button inside the car cabin with the open trunk symbol to unlock it. If this doesn't work, it suggests a faulty fuse that needs replacement. Lastly, you can use the remote button on the key fob to unlock the trunk from a distance, which should function even from inside the house.

@cheryls I am experiencing a similar problem, but I am relieved that I don't have long nails. I will be monitoring the comments for helpful responses.
I don't have a response yet, but the issue with my car is that new struts were recently put in, as I thought that was the problem. However, the trunk is still locking and unlocking properly, but it doesn't open automatically as it should. I have to manually lift it with my fingers, and the trunk is quite heavy. Any help would be appreciated. - Cheryl, 2015 BMW 650i convertible.
I don't know the solution, but I'm facing an issue where the trunk unlocks but doesn't pop up for you to lift it with your hands underneath. I recently had the struts replaced, thinking they might be causing the problem. I checked the fuse settings, but I'm wondering if there might be a simpler fix. Thanks for your help! - Cheryl, owner of a 2015 BMW 650i M series convertible.
