From the 2014 version onward, Toyota opted to discontinue offering a V6 engine choice for the RAV4, making the only available engine the standard 2.5L 4-cylinder. This engine requires a motor oil capacity of 4.6 US quarts with the filter. The recommended oil type is fully synthetic 0W-20, though a temporary use of 5W-20 is acceptable if necessary. However, it is crucial to switch back to 0W-20 during the next oil change to prevent potential damage. The oil drain plug features a 14mm head size and should be removed using 25 lbs-ft of torque with a power wrench.
The 2014 Toyota RAV4 can hold up to 4.6 quarts (4.3 liters) of oil. It is recommended to use Toyota Genuine Motor Oil or a similar oil with the specification of SAE 0W-20 for optimal performance.
I own a 2014 Toyota RAV4 XLE, and I need to pour all 5 quarts of oil into it, even after running the engine and double-checking.
