The manual for the 2008 Acura MDX clearly states that only Honda Genuine ATF-Z1 fluid should be used. This vehicle holds 8.3 quarts of ATF. To check the levels and top up if necessary, start the car and let it warm up for about ten minutes. After turning off the engine, find the dipstick with its distinctive yellow handle. Wipe clean and reinsert it into the reservoir. If the fluid level is below the lower mark, add a little more until it reaches between the two markers.
