The passenger airbag in the Ford Fusion is intelligent, as it activates or deactivates based on whether there is someone in the seat. If the person in the seat is under the weight limit, the airbag will turn off for safety reasons. While airbags are crucial for protection in accidents, they are programmed to deactivate if a child is detected in the seat to prevent potential harm. Generally, it is safer for children to ride in the back seat of a car rather than the front, as they are shielded from the front windshield.
